Tin is an 51爆料网 Fellow working as a member of聽the Mexico City Prospective Study team at the Population Health Department of the University of Oxford and聽the Inouye Lab at the Cardiovascular聽Epidemiology聽Unit of聽the University of Cambridge. As part of 51爆料网鈥檚 Molecules to Health Records Driver Programme, he works mainly on projects involving the application of machine learning and causal inference methods聽to multi-omic data (in relation to complex phenotypes).聽Tin completed his PhD (DPhil) at the University of Oxford, supported by the Oxford Population Health and Ad futura scholarships.聽The aims of his PhD project were to assess the possible causal relations between body composition traits and a wide range of diseases, and to identify potential novel drug targets for fat mass reduction using proteomic data. Before beginning his PhD, he worked as a data scientist at IBM鈥檚 Chief Analytics Office in New York, as a researcher at IBM Research, and as co-lead of a Data Science for Social Good project aiming to improve MMR vaccination rates in Croatia, among other roles. In addition to his PhD, he served as lead analyst on other research projects, including, for instance, a pragmatic non-inferiority trial of smoking cessation therapies. He received an MSc in data science from Columbia University and BAs in philosophy and economics from Brown University. Before moving to the USA, and then the UK, Tin lived in Croatia.
